Owner and visionary craftsman, John Stephenson began his career in 1978 having started his own roofing company early in his professional career.  John’s creativity and willingness to work with his clients to complete their vision in architectural components within their home design has taken him beyond just conventional roofing. 

 

John and his family moved to the Hill Country outside of Austin in the 80’s, where he began working with builders and architects who had unique visions about how a home or commercial building should look by incorporating metals into their designs. 

 

With these new and unique looks, John increasingly was receiving requests for customized metal design work.  In 2011 Steel and Glass Design was formed to offer, not only to the trade, but to individuals seeking custom metal design work for home and commercial projects.  His projects include using various types of metal such as copper, stainless steel, galvanized, and ferrous steel to create a custom design for doors, windows, varied types of railing, gates (interior and exterior), steel trusses, lighting and furniture.   If you can dream it, John can design and build it.
